A couple times a week...HA!

So posting a couple of times a week has definitely proved harder than I thought, even if I am at the computer multiple times throughout the day. I have taken pictures and thought "I should blog this." For instance, last week Derek's year swelled up something terrible. I didn't even notice it at first until I looked at him head on and he had one "Matusik ear" I call it a Matusik ear because my mother's side of the family tends to have these unusually large ears that stick out quite far. So upon closer examination of Derek's ear the whole thing is red and swollen. Anyway, I took pictures and meant to blog that night. Obviously that didn't happen. I have pictures from the first day of t-ball and throughout the summer, haven't blogged. I have 4th of July pics, no blog post. Swimming pics, no blog post. Art/paint project pics, no blog post. Man am I falling behind. Well here are pictures of Derek's ear and you will be happy to know it has gone back down to it's normal size, and I think it was just a bug bite.

Don't cry for me Argentina

When Derek was learning to talk he couldn't say my sister's name, Aunt Sarina, it came out sounding like "Argentina." So now that is her name, Argentina. My dear sister came in last Monday for a visit. She stayed with us through Sat morning, when she was supposed to go to New York (or so I thought). Her flight was initially delayed and then she missed the later flight.....don't ask. So she stayed all day on Saturday with us. Luckily, we were able to meet Chad, go swimming in the afternoon, and make a pit stop to 2 different Portillo's for chocolate cake. I think Sarina thought the day was a sucess. The kids love Argentina and being the wonderful sister I am, we even went to Ohare this morning to see her for an hour during her lay over back from New York. But all good things must come to an end and now she is back in Arizona, crying for us because she misses us so. Unfortunately, we don't know when we will see her next.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hectic

Last week was so busy, it was all just a blur. I worked, Derek had soccer camp everyday in the wicked hot weather, we hosted 2 soccer coaches all week, and then Dylan and Kayla spent Saturday night at our house. Derek had a blast at soccer camp even though it was 100 degrees or so most of the week. The only tolerable day was Friday, it was actually pleasant after the rest of the week. It was still in the upper 80's. After sweating at soccer camp we went to the pool everyday. On Saturday we didn't brave the pool, instead decided to take the 4 kiddos (Derek, Sean, Dylan and Kayla) to a spray park. If you ask Derek and Sean I'm sure they had a fantastic week. Mom and Dad are just exhausted. Enjoy the pictures from soccer.
